It all started with a visit from Father Dr. Lawrence Ssemusu. The priest from Uganda came to the Bavarian town of Kettershausen as a summer substitute. Fr. Lawrence reported on the St. Kizito-Ssanda School in his home town of Buswa, which was far too small. There were 700 children being taught, the school was originally built for 250 children. The classrooms were totally overcrowded with up to 70 children. The founding members promised help and an association “Hilfe für Kinder in Uganda eV” was founded. The goal was and is to enable the children to attend school, to build new school buildings, teachers’ apartments, toilets, kitchen, well,… in order to create a perspective for life! We are also helping the association again with a generous donation.
You can find more information about the association here.
